My Grooveshark playlist for today!

Hi All,

I have been using grooveshark a fair bit lately for my music listening, it is a very cool alternative to spotify, and does not have audio ads between songs which is a real plus!

The premium version which gets rid of all ads, and lets you use the mobile client is only $30 USD for a whole year, which is also a lot cheaper than spotify!

Today I thought I would share another cool feature which is the widgets that they offer for your playlists. This is the playlist that I am currently listening to, you can click the play button and listen right from here :D

You can head over to www.grooveshark.com now and start building your own playlists for free :D

More water photos…

Here are some more water photos I just took, as always full res are on flickr!

Garden pond photos!

I went out into the garden to take some pictures by the pond today as I haven’t used my camera properly in a couple weeks! Not very many but I might take some more later or tomorrow! As usual they can also be found on my flickr in their full size!

Logitech Customer Support Experience

Hi There!

I haven’t posted anything here in a while but I thought I would share my recent experience with Logitech’s customer support with you! You may already have heard that my Z-5500 surround sound speakers broke the other day. The control center unit which you connect input devices to, and control volume and levels from would repeatedly turn itself off, which was rather annoying.

I decided that I would phone up customer support and see if they would replace the unit for me. I got through to a real human being within about 40 seconds, including option choosing time, which is not bad! The guy on the phone seemed relatively helpful, although I later found out that he did not really know what he was going on about. He told me that the warranty on my surround sound was only 2 years, and therefore had expired. He also suggested that I contact Amazon (where I bought it from) to see if they could do anything. So next I sent off an email to them but as I expected, they were not able to do anything, and said logitech should be able to deal with it.

At this point I was really not looking forward to shelling out £230 to buy another set, especially seeing as I only paid £190 for them 2 years ago! As a last attempt before giving up I phoned logitech back to see if there was anything else they could do, or if I could buy just the control center from them (all the speakers are fine!). The person who I spoke to this time around gave some much better news; he told me that the warranty was in fact 3 years long, and that they would be able to ship me a new unit. This was great, all I had to do then was send some pictures of my current speakers with a reference number visible, and a copy of the invoice from amazon via email. Within a couple hours I had an email back saying that they had shipped a replacement unit, which I was really impressed with!

Even better, it only took from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning for the speakers to get from the Netherlands to my house in Somerset, delivered by UPS! So overall, if you ignore the first telephone support guy, who was obviously an idiot, I would say the overall experience was great!

Henry, Why???

For ‘Peter’ the sound fx guy, see the post below!
